Hour Glass Lake - Meachen Creek |
Hour Glass Lake is an fascinating study of the massive fire that burned much of Meachen Creek last summer. So hot it consumed most of the organic in the soil and scourched ridgetop to ridgetop. See my Facebook page for some photos. | The trail has been cut out and road is good 2WD all the way to the trailhead. | JS |

Mount Evans - Meachen Creek |
I went up Mt Evans today and wanted to let you know that the Road is in excellent shape as is the trail, there are a couple downed trees easily stepped over. | Snow is almost all gone from the basin and the trail is bare all the way. Lots of flowers blooming, Heath, Arnica, Penstemon, Fireweed, Bog Laurel, and Spotted Saxifrage. Almost no fire damage in the area, just a few places above and below the trail. | LG |
