Most hikes in the book are day hikes or backpacking trips into the mountains, while some other hikes are short and easy walks in the lowlands. Janice's detailed trail and road directions and her enthusiastic personal narratives, help hikers of all skill levels to explore on their own, using her book as their guide.
The hiking trial guide book features short and easy hikes for beginner or casual hikers. Most of the hikes are moderate full day hikes into the backcountry of the East Kootenay mountains and her book also offers directions and routes for muliti-day backpacking trips into the mountain wilderness.
