The nights skies over the East Kootenay and in Utah are fascinating to photograph.
Some of the moon shots were taken with a telescope, while most of the moons and the northern lights were simply tripod steadied images with a medium telephoto lens, 150 mm.
The Aurora Borelis images were taken in the East Kootenay around Cranbrook and they are typically wide angle images on a tripod.
Comet Hale-Bopp flew over the northern hemishere in 1997 and we were able to photograph it many times during its 6-months that it was visible. The best viewing however, was only for a month or so in April 1997.
